About the Role
We are looking for a Data QA Engineer to join our TechOps team at Abacus Insights. This role involves guiding critical feature delivery teams and working with data pipelines that ingest and process diverse data sources. You will be exposed to various areas of our platform and AWS services, helping drive the evolution of our product and team as we rapidly grow.
Key Responsibilities
- →Review and identify business requirement gaps from mapping specification documents
- →Estimate effort for QA activities and tasks
- →Identify mapping test scenarios and author ETL test cases
- →Understand file layouts of various input formats and perform parser validation
- →Write Source and Target SQLs for data validation
- →Automate Source to target validation in Pyspark and Databricks
- →Identify data needs and perform test execution with synthetic data
- →Write SQLs for User Acceptance Criteria
- →Support User Acceptance testing (UAT)
- →Perform day-to-day activities using Agile methodologies
- →Capture QA activities using test management tools and Jira
- →Coordinate onsite-offshore activities
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field
- ✓At least 2 years of hands-on experience in Data Quality Assurance or Data Engineering QA roles
- ✓Direct experience working with U.S. healthcare datasets
- ✓Expert-level skills in SQL, including writing complex queries and optimizing performance
- ✓Advanced Python capabilities for data analysis and automation
- ✓Strong analytical abilities to work with large datasets
- ✓Solid foundation in QA methodologies
- ✓Familiarity with analytics platforms and reporting tools
- ✓Understanding of HEDIS quality measures is a plus
- ✓Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- ✓Experience with Pyspark, Databricks, and AWS services like Redshift, S3, and Athena
