About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the Message Detection Decisioning team at Abnormal Security. This role involves protecting customers against evolving security threats through a novel behavioral-based approach. The team builds an extremely precise Detection Engine that operates on hundreds of millions of messages with milliseconds latency.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design and implement systems that combine rules, models, feature engineering, and business inputs into an email detection product
- →Identify and recommend new features or ML model approaches to improve detection efficacy
- →Understand features that distinguish safe emails from attacks and drive debugging in systematic degradations
- →Write code with testability, readability, and error handling in mind
- →Train models on well-defined datasets to improve model efficacy
- →Monitor and improve False Positive rates and efficacy rates
- →Analyze False Negative and False Positive datasets to recommend improvements
- →Contribute to data pipelines and present results to customers
- →Lead the team’s medium and long term roadmap
- →Mentor junior engineers to improve code quality and ML effectiveness
Requirements
- ✓Track record of translating business requirements into scalable systems
- ✓4+ years of experience with production ML systems
- ✓Systematic approach to debug data and system issues within ML models
- ✓Proficiency with Python and machine learning libraries
- ✓Experience with data analytics and SQL+pandas+spark framework
- ✓Responsible for the entire lifecycle of projects or features
- ✓Experience working with cross-functional teams
- ✓Machine learning academic background (Bachelor's degree)
