The work:
The Senior Business Analyst will lead requirements gathering, analysis, and business process definition for transforming legacy applications into modern web-based platforms hosted in the AWS cloud. Serving as the key liaison between meteorologists, operational end users, and the technical development team, this role ensures that new web applications support the complex needs of weather forecasting operations while enabling the benefits of cloud-native technology.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct in-depth analysis of current applications to document functionality, workflows, and user needs.
• Lead requirements gathering sessions with meteorologists, forecasters, and additional stakeholders.
• Develop detailed functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for web-based applications.
• Create process flows, use cases, and user journey maps to represent complex meteorological workflows.
• Analyze the operational impact of transitioning from desktop to web applications.
• Identify opportunities for workflow improvements and enhanced functionality in the modernized applications.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure interfaces meet operational and meteorological requirements.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications for development teams.
• Validate delivered functionality through testing, user acceptance sessions, and requirement verification.
• Develop training materials and end-user documentation.
• Maintain requirements traceability matrices and other documentation artifacts.
• Facilitate prioritization of features and requirements with stakeholders.
• Document integration requirements with related applications and external systems.
• Support change management efforts associated with the transition to cloud-based web applications.
Here's what you need:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Meteorology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting software application development.
• Strong skills in requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience with business process modeling and workflow analysis.
• Proficiency with requirements management tools and methodologies.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Experience working closely with technical software development teams.
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience using Generative AI tools to accelerate development tasks, including prompt engineering and reviewing AI-generated content.
Bonus Points if you have:
• Meteorology background or experience with meteorological or scientific systems.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Knowledge of weather forecasting operations and related workflows.
• Experience transitioning desktop applications to modern web platforms.
• Understanding of cloud computing concepts, particularly AWS.
• Experience supporting government or mission‑critical systems.
• Familiarity with scientific or geospatial data visualization requirements.
• Knowledge of GIS systems or geospatial applications.
• Professional certification in business analysis (CBAP, PMI‑PBA, etc.).
• Experience with user acceptance testing and validation processes.

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
