About Adaptive:
Adaptive is a cybersecurity startup on a mission to stop AI-powered cyberattacks, founded by Brian Long and Andrew Jonesβproven entrepreneurs behind Attentive (Forbes Cloud 100, $10B+ valuation) and TapCommerce (acquired by Twitter). Adaptive has raised $146.5M to date, including an $81M Series B led by Bain Capital Ventures with participation from NVIDIA, Capital One Ventures, Citi Ventures, a16z, and the OpenAI Fund β OpenAI's first-ever cybersecurity investment.
As generative AI drives new cyber threats, Adaptive is building the defense layer every organization needs. Our platform combines personalized security training, AI-driven attack simulations, and automated threat triage, all powered by the Adaptive Risk Intelligence Engine to quantify human risk at the individual level. We're an AI-native team β we build AI products, and we use AI to build them. Trusted by top banks, tech companies, and healthcare organizations, we protect teams from emerging threats like deepfakes, smishing, and voice scams. With a solid product foundation and a $200B+ market to transform, we're just getting started.
Role:
We are seeking a Product Manager who thinks in systems, ships fast, and treats AI as a core part of their toolkit β not a buzzword. You will own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for one or more of our core products, working closely with engineering, design, sales, marketing, and customer success. You'll use LLMs and AI tools daily to move faster: drafting specs, pressure-testing ideas, synthesizing research, and prototyping solutions before a single eng sprint begins.
Responsibilities:
- Own the roadmap for your product area. Prioritize ruthlessly based on customer impact, business value, and technical feasibility β then defend your bets to leadership and GTM.
- Be the voice of the customer. Run discovery calls, mine support tickets, and synthesize what you hear into clear problem statements β not feature requests.
- Ship. Build prototypes, partner with eng and design to make tradeoffs, and drive execution through launch. You're accountable for outcomes, not just output.
- Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and CS to shape positioning, enable the GTM team, and close the loop on customer feedback.
- Instrument and monitor product metrics. Use data to validate hypotheses, catch problems early, and inform what to build next.
- Stay sharp on cybersecurity and generative AI trends. Know what competitors are shipping and where the market is moving.
How We Work
We expect PMs at Adaptive to integrate AI deeply into their workflow. Here's what that looks like in practice:
- Treat agents as thought partners. Use AI agents, trained on our own company knowledge and organization, to clarify your thinking β draft problem statements, surface edge cases, stress-test product logic, and sketch initial diagrams before involving the broader team. AI is your first sounding board, not your last resort.
- Prototype before you spec. Use AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Replit) to build rough prototypes and validate product scope. Partner with engineering to decide what moves into production.
- Validate assumptions with speed. Talk directly to customers, run quick tests, and use AI to synthesize findings. Treat research as a velocity tool, not a gate.
- Automate the boring stuff. Use AI agents to draft stakeholder updates, competitive analyses, and launch comms. Spend your time on judgment calls, not formatting.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of product management experience, ideally in a high growth B2B SaaS startup.
- Strong sense of initiative, thoughtful synthesis of feedback, and swift adaptability when faced with ambiguity.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the humility to learn from mistakes and collaborate with a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver exceptional products.
- Fluency with AI tools. You actively use LLMs, AI coding agents, or similar tools in your daily work β not as a novelty, but as a multiplier. You can articulate when AI helps and when it doesn't.
- Builder's instinct. You've prototyped something β a workflow, a demo, a quick app β using AI tools. You don't wait for an engineer to validate every idea.
What We Offer:
- An opportunity to work on a challenging product that will impact millions of people
- A culture that promotes continuous learning and growth, with access to resources and mentorship to advance your skills and career.
- A supportive, inclusive environment where every team member's contribution is valued.
