About the Role

AECOM EC is seeking a talented Principal Engineer - Telecommunications Engineer (Data Centers) to join our office in Bogota, Colombia. This role focuses on project engineering management for telecommunications systems in data networks.

Key Responsibilities

→Design Telecommunications Systems for Data Networks: Develop and implement Telecommunications system designs tailored to network operations, including Structured Cabling, Networking, Virtualization, Wireless Network, IP Telephony, Grounding and Bonding for Telecommunications. Ensure designs prioritize reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
→Telecommunications Equipment Selection: Identify and specify telecommunications equipment such as Switches, Servers, Wireless Devices and all the Passive Infrastructure. Ensure equipment meets operational requirements and adheres to safety standards.
→Redundancy and Fault Tolerance: Design systems with redundancy and fault-tolerant features, including dual power feeds for actives equipment, redundancy for optical and copper communications, to guarantee continuous operation.
→Interdisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, architectural, structural as well as other disciplines that are part of the projects, to integrate telecommunications systems.
→Ensure Compliance with Industry Standards: Adhere to industry-specific standards, such as those from Uptime Institute, ANSI/TIA, BICSI, IEEE, IEC, and NEC, ensuring all designs meet regulatory and operational guidelines.
→Prepare Design Documentation and Specifications: Create comprehensive technical drawings, specifications, and documentation. Effectively communicate design plans with clients, architects, contractors, and project stakeholders.
→Stay Informed on Telecommunications trends: Keep updated on advancements, best practices, and emerging technologies in telecommunications systems, standards, and manufacturers advances.

Requirements
