About the Role
The Senior Engineer- Overhead Line (OHL) provides technical leadership for transmission line projects ranging from 132kV to 765kV. This role involves hands-on design, technical review, and interdisciplinary collaboration across project stages from concept to construction.
Key Responsibilities
- →Plan, schedule, and execute HV transmission line projects including cost estimation, budgeting, and resource allocation
- →Coordinate with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met
- →Lead technical delivery of HV transmission line engineering and design projects
- →Develop transmission line alignments, profiles, and structure spotting using PLS-CADD
- →Perform sag-tension analysis and validate clearances according to standards like EN 50341
- →Prepare and review design deliverables including drawings, charts, schedules, and reports
- →Assess tower and pole structure loading and coordinate foundation designs
- →Lead or contribute to various project types including new designs, reconductoring, uprating, and asset renewal
- →Participate in design reviews, QA processes, and constructability assessments
- →Support construction-ready drawings and material schedules
- →Coordinate with drafting, structural, civil, electrical, and geotechnical teams
- →Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
Requirements
- ✓Strong technical background in overhead line engineering
- ✓Experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-TOWER, or PLS-POLE software
- ✓Knowledge of relevant standards such as EN 50341 and NG TS 2.04
- ✓Ability to perform sag-tension analysis and clearance validation
- ✓Experience with design deliverable preparation and review
- ✓Understanding of tower and pole structure loading and foundation design
- ✓Project coordination and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- ✓Leadership and mentoring experience
- ✓Civil, structural, or mechanical engineering background for discipline-specific responsibilities
