About the Role
We are looking for a Data Scientist to join the Identity Data Science team at Airbnb. This role focuses on building cutting-edge identity verification systems and implementing defenses against emerging threats to create the most trusted community in the world.
Key Responsibilities
- →Improve identity verification by leveraging biometrics, NFC chips, and other advancements
- →Build statistical models for detecting identity fraud, including computer vision models and LLMs
- →Automate and optimize human-in-the-loop ML processes for fraud classification
- →Deploy real-time anomaly detection systems for identifying emerging threats
- →Design intelligent sampling jobs for estimating rare events prevalence
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of industry experience in a quantitative analysis role with a Master’s degree, or 2+ years with a Ph.D.
- ✓State-of-the-art knowledge of AI/ML models
- ✓Strong knowledge of causal inference
- ✓Skilled in statistical programming (Python or R) and database usage (SQL)
- ✓Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to audiences of varying technical levels
- ✓Excellent project management, communication, and collaboration skills
- ✓Trust & Safety experience is a plus
