About the Role
We are looking for a Design Systems Engineer to join our team at Airtable. This role focuses on building and evolving our design system, with a particular emphasis on integrating AI-assisted UI development.
Key Responsibilities
- →Collaborate on the existing design system, assessing its state and establishing direction with other contributors
- →Build and ship components and tokens while evolving contribution standards with the broader community
- →Develop and evangelize a point of view on AI-assisted UI development
- →Build and maintain the AI tooling layer for UI
- →Partner with designers, engineers, and accessibility to improve the quality of user experience
Requirements
- ✓8+ years at the intersection of design and engineering
- ✓Experience inheriting and evolving systems
- ✓Deep fluency in design tokens, component architecture, theming, and accessibility standards (WCAG)
- ✓Ability to influence through craft, clarity, and relationships
- ✓Portfolio showing both polished design work and production-quality libraries
- ✓Active curiosity about AI-assisted development with prior experimentation with LLM-driven tooling
