What youβll do
As the technical engine within the FP&A team, you will be responsible for overseeing financial data maintenance and building the necessary infrastructure to transform raw financial data into automated, strategic insights through dashboards, context files, and management reports. This role demands deep technical capability and a continuous improvement mindset, focusing on high-stakes data governance and workflow automation.
You will move away from traditional manual spreadsheets toward AI-native solutions, leveraging SQL, Python, AI, and Large Language Models (LLMs) to build and own the FP&A data infrastructure roadmap. You will partner directly with our Data & AI Engineering team to maintain automated pipelines connecting our internal systems to our central data warehouse. Your key goal is to eliminate manual data manipulation by designing live, self-updating dashboards and management reports that track business metrics and outcomes and create automated workflows that react to real-time business changes.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automated data pipelines that pull information from our payment systems and ERP into the finance data warehouse.
- Use AI-assisted coding and languages like Python and SQL to automate manual data reconciliation and reporting tasks, such as transaction matching, expense categorization, and report generation.
- Perform daily and monthly data 'sense checks' and act as the custodian for data integrity in our FP&A systems, including creating and maintaining data logic and troubleshooting data discrepancies.
- Architect the finance tables in cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake or BigQuery) to establish a single, reliable source for all company metrics. Serve as the central FP&A focal point for storing and maintaining all datasets, including historical actuals, forecasts, and budgets, within the corporate data foundation.
- Design live, self-updating dashboards that track company performance, margins, and burn rates, and create automated reports for analysis such as product-level P&L.
- Partner with the engineering team to ensure new product features or payment methods are correctly captured in our financial data models.
- Develop automated forecasting models that connect with the current data infrastructure and leverage existing AI tools/agents to improve team efficiency and update based on real-time business data.
- Clean and structure complex datasets for deep-dive analysis and IPO-level audits.
- Act as the technical lead within the FP&A team, helping colleagues use new tools and automation to accelerate their work.
Who you are
Weβre looking for a highly autonomous individual who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is ready to tackle complex technical and data challenges. You should be proficient in writing scripts and possess a strong understanding of how the P&L works. You need to have the ability to distill complex finance use-cases into clear business requirements and actionable output. A passion for automation, a sharp eye for data integrity, and the ability to turn messy data into clear financial insights are essential.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree from a reputable university in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Finance, Mathematics, or Computer Science).
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics, financial planning, or systems accounting in a fast-paced technology environment.
- Expert-level SQL and Python skills, and experience with AI-assisted coding (e.g., LLMs, Cursor) to automate repetitive manual tasks.
- Strong understanding of financial logic and the ability to perform deep-dive data integrity checks.
- Experience building and maintaining data models within a cloud data warehouse (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar).
- Proven track record of designing and building automated dashboards and real-time reporting suites that drive business decisions and scale adoption.
- Ability to translate complex financial requirements into clean, reproducible code and technical specifications.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience using modern AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Copilot, or LLM agents) for accelerated development.
- Hands-on data analytics experience with dbt (data build tool) and version control (Git) within a finance or fintech context.
- Background in Fintech or high-growth SaaS, with exposure to complex multi-currency settlements and revenue recognition.
- Experience cleaning and structuring large, messy datasets for IPO-level audits or sophisticated forecasting.
- Proven ability to upskill and train traditional finance team members on new automation tools and data literacy.
