About the Role
The Development Writer & Editor at Alliance Defending Freedom creates compelling, donor-focused content to advance organizational fundraising goals. This role supports the Development and Communications teams by drafting, editing, and refining various materials.
Key Responsibilities
- →Draft and edit donor-facing content including proposals, grant reports, and campaign materials
- →Write and revise copies for marketing materials, email campaigns, and website content
- →Translate complex legal or technical information into clear language for general audiences
- →Edit content for clarity, tone, grammar, and accuracy
- →Proofread materials across print and digital formats
- →Manage writing and editing projects from start to completion
- →Conduct background research to inform writing projects
- →Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
- ✓3–5 years of professional writing or editing experience
- ✓Proficient in writing and editing for clarity and audience relevance
- ✓Ability to break down complex topics into accessible narratives
- ✓Knowledge of persuasive writing and fundraising principles
- ✓Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- ✓Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- ✓Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- ✓Take editorial direction well and incorporate feedback
- ✓Work independently while maintaining alignment with team priorities
