About the Role
We are looking for an Associate Software Developer to join our team at AltaML, a leading North American applied AI company. This is a 4 or 8-month opportunity for current students starting in May 2026. As an Associate Software Developer, youβll play a hands-on role in building and scaling our agentic platform, an intelligent system designed to automate workflows and power smarter decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- βDevelop and maintain high-quality, well-documented code across both frontend and backend systems
- βTroubleshoot and resolve bugs, integration issues, and performance bottlenecks
- βImplement new features and enhancements to improve dashboard usability and data visibility
- βCollaborate with cross-functional teams to translate technical requirements into scalable solutions
- βLeverage AI and agentic development tools to automate testing and improve code efficiency
- βContribute to technical documentation, code reviews, and agile workflows
- βStay current on software trends, frameworks, and architectures
Requirements
- βProgress toward a Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- βProficiency in one or more modern programming languages (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js)
- βSolid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
- βFamiliarity with frontend frameworks (React, Vue) or backend technologies
- βExposure to machine learning concepts or experience with agentic systems is an asset
- βStrong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills
- βCollaborative mindset and ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment
