About the Role
You will take new product designs and bring them to life at Amca, a company building airplanes for the 21st century. This role involves designing and manufacturing new hardware for aviation applications, working closely with engineering teams to ensure designs are manufacturable at production facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- →Own prototyping and first builds of new hardware designs
- →Work with Design Engineering teams to understand end-use applications and challenge requirements
- →Take full ownership of manufacturing and build of new product designs
- →Prototype new components with manufacturability, integration, and performance as core constraints
- →Work with Test Engineering teams to assist in creating any test tooling needed
- →Manage tooling configurations in accordance with aerospace standards
- →Provide continuous feedback to engineering teams to optimize products and processes
- →Support build and manufacturing processes in internal shops
- →Assist with equipment selection and onboarding
- →Own manufacturing processes as the subject matter expert
- →Evaluate product catalogs to determine opportunities for expansion
- →Assist in subsidiary design and manufacturing engineering evaluation
- →Work with cross-functional engineering teams to expand manufacturing capabilities
Requirements
- ✓Exceptionally curious and fast learner
- ✓Able to contribute across diverse part categories and manufacturing processes
- ✓Demonstrated ability to use engineering first principles to challenge and simplify requirements
- ✓Hands-on and practical - comfortable building, testing, and troubleshooting in real-world environments
- ✓Independent and creative; thrives with ownership and minimal oversight
- ✓Experience with mechanical design and manufacturing processes
- ✓Proficient in CAD, PLM/PDM systems, GD&T, and Materials & Processing (M&P)
- ✓U.S. citizenship or permanent residence required due to ITAR regulations
