About the Role
We are seeking a Counselor to join our in-prison facilities and deliver rehabilitative programming services. This role focuses on supporting inmate populations through evidence-based substance use disorder treatment and fostering positive change in a therapeutic community environment.
Key Responsibilities
- →Facilitate CBI classes using evidence-based and standardized curriculum
- →Conduct individual sessions to develop release prevention/action plans
- →Evaluate and document participant progress in assigned classes
- →Document service delivery in ARMS system
- →Engage participants daily and reinforce group norms and expectations
- →Collaborate with CDCR/CCHCS headquarters, local institution, and contracted staff
- →Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- ✓Must obtain AOD certification within five years of registration date
- ✓Current AOD registration with DHCS-approved organization
- ✓Understanding of substance abuse causes, symptoms, and effects
- ✓Knowledge of ISUDTP contractual requirements
- ✓Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills
- ✓Operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS
- ✓Ability to maintain sensitivity and objectivity under pressure
- ✓Demonstrate ethical behavior to maintain professional standards
- ✓Protect participant health, safety, welfare, and confidentiality
