About the Role
We are seeking a Cook to join our LACTC project team. This role involves preparing all meals while ensuring sanitation, nutrition, and safety standards are maintained. You will work with prison program students and contribute to their training in food service.
Key Responsibilities
- →Prepare three balanced meals daily for the entire program
- →Assist in ordering and storing food meeting CDPH and LA County Health Department standards
- →Follow monthly rotation menu
- →Maintain high standards in food service dining room and kitchen
- →Assist in training students in cooking, food preparation, presentation, and hygiene
- →Attend Community Building day activities
- →Follow community schedule and present meals on time
- →Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- ✓High School diploma or equivalent (GED) or actively working toward it
- ✓One year culinary experience and/or training or equivalent combination
- ✓Current state driver's license
- ✓ServeSafe Certification
- ✓Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
- ✓Maintain social, ethical, and organizational values and norms
- ✓Apply high-performance standards to all work-related activities
