About the Role
AMO APPS is a Ukrainian product-based IT company that helps millions of people worldwide improve their lives through healthy habits. We are looking for a Junior PHP Developer to join the backend team for Harna, a fitness app with personalized workouts that helps users build healthy habits and achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities
- βLead tasks from idea to release: understanding needs, designing solutions, and implementation
- βParticipate in decomposing a monolith into microservices, implementing modern architectural approaches
- βWork in a strong engineering team and develop technically
- βDevelop new and maintain existing functionality considering technical and product needs
- βDesign and improve backend logic for the Harna product
- βParticipate in the transition from monolith to microservice architecture and support the development of individual services
- βEnsure high code quality: testing, releases, minimizing bugs
- βIntegrate with third-party services and build reliable communication between them
- βCollaborate with product, design, and frontend teams to achieve the best results
Requirements
- βCommercial experience in backend development of 1+ years
- βBasic understanding of web application principles (architecture, request lifecycle, component interaction)
- βExperience with PHP (7+/8+) and Symfony
- βBasic skills in working with MySQL (data structure, indexes, optimization of simple queries)
- βInitial experience with Docker or understanding of containerization principles
- βUnderstanding of microservice architecture basics and service interaction
