About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join the leadership of our Core Functionality team. As one of several leaders on the team, you will be responsible for managing a high-performing team of engineers, driving technical excellence, and contributing to architectural decisions and technology strategy.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Lead and manage engineers; junior, mid-level, and senior.
β’ Champion engineering best practices, including code reviews, test development, and automated deployment processes.
β’ Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team through coaching and career development.
β’ Collaborate with product management to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
β’ Oversee the full development lifecycle, from planning and design to deployment and maintenance.
β’ Establish and monitor key engineering KPIs, focusing on flow metrics such as lead time, cycle time, and throughput to ensure predictability and efficiency.
β’ Drive continuous improvement in data engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.
β’ Manage technical debt and ensure the long-term health and scalability of our complex codebase.
β’ Foster a culture of curiosity, accountability, and technical excellence within the team.
β’ Provide regular reporting on team performance and project status to executive leadership.
Required Qualifications
β’ Strong software engineering experience on complex systems, including in an engineering management role.
β’ Strong hands-on experience with Java.
β’ Demonstrated success building and managing high-performance engineering teams.
β’ Excellent technical problem-solving and system design skills.
β’ Strong leadership abilities with experience in team building, mentoring, and performance management.
β’ Experience with Agile/Kanban methodologies and modern development practices.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Deep experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
β’ Experience implementing modern observability stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
β’ Experience scaling engineering teams in fast-growing organizations.
β’ Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements.
β’ Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field.
