Anaplan is looking for a passionate Product Owner to join our team, focusing on the core experience of our Anaplan application builders. This role will work directly with our platform engineering teams to translate the needs of our application building community into actionable, technical requirements that shape the future of our platform.
The ideal candidate is an expert Anaplan model builder who is ready to apply their deep domain knowledge to a product role and act as the voice of the builder within the engineering organization.
Your Impact
β’ Own, prioritize, and manage the product backlog for one or more platform engineering teams, ensuring it aligns with the strategic product roadmap.
β’ Act as the primary liaison between product management and platform engineering, translating high-level product strategy into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
β’ Lead backlog grooming sessions, sprint planning meetings, and sprint reviews to ensure the engineering team has a clear understanding of what they are building and why.
β’ Leverage your deep Anaplan model building expertise to define and validate requirements, ensuring that new platform capabilities meet the real-world needs of our builders.
β’ Collaborate closely with UX designers, technical writers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, well-documented platform features.
β’ Accept user stories as "done" by validating that the engineering output meets the acceptance criteria and delivers the intended value.
β’ Effectively communicate the status of the product backlog, sprint goals, and release plans to stakeholders across the organization.
Required Skills
β’ Proven experience working directly with software engineering teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
β’ Strong understanding of the Product Owner role, including backlog management, prioritization, and user story writing.
β’ Ability to translate complex business and user needs into clear, concise, and actionable technical requirements for an engineering team.
β’ Excellent proficiency with Agile development management tools, particularly Jira and Confluence.
β’ Highly analytical and skilled at breaking down large, complex problems into smaller, manageable pieces of work.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
β’ A passion for the Anaplan platform and a deep empathy for the model builder community.
Team player with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment.
