About the Role

We are looking for an Information Security Analyst to join our Security Operations team at Appian. This role involves monitoring and analyzing security alerts, evaluating emerging threats, and responding to cyber threats while adhering to industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

→Participate in monitoring and analyzing security alerts
→Evaluate emerging threats and respond to cyber threats
→Adhere to industry regulations
→Assist with information security related continuous monitoring activities
→Collaborate with interdepartmental teams to detect unique threats and mitigations
→Support internal and external security reviews, audits, and control evaluations
→Participate in incident reporting and investigation processes
→Conduct risk analysis and provide recommendations for remediation or mitigation
→Support information security projects
→Coordinate with Appian Engineering teams to research potential security issues
→Participate in blue-team and red-team activities
→Stay up to date on current security risks and trends

Requirements

✓Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
✓Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study
✓Solid understanding of network fundamentals and internet protocols
✓Proficiency in at least one scripting language
✓Proficient in querying large datasets using SQL or other big data query languages
✓Solid understanding of operating systems concepts
✓Knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK Framework, Cyber Kill Chain, or other relevant frameworks
✓Familiarity with threat intelligence sources and common adversary tactics
✓Knowledge of cloud-based infrastructures and layer security responsibilities
✓Knowledge of cloud concepts (AWS), containers, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps principles
