Location & Eligibility:
This is a hybrid role based in London. You must live within commuting distance of our office at The Walkie Talkie (20 Fenchurch St) and be willing to come in weekly, though the specific days will depend on client needs. This role involves about 30% travel.
Important: You must live in the UK and be eligible for UK Security Clearance.
The Role:
As a Senior Advisory Solutions Consultant, you are the technical lead during the sales process. You will work with the sales team to show prospective clients how Appianβs platform works in practice. This role follows our SC 2.0 model - which means moving beyond basic feature demos to act as a strategic partner for our customers. You will co-create solutions with them, using your technical background to help shape their long-term strategy. You can read more about the SC 2.0 approach here.
This position requires the technical creativity to build working prototypes and the business sense to explain why they matter. You will be responsible for handling technical objections, answering detailed product questions, and making sure potential customers understand exactly how our software fits into their business.
What you'll do:
β’ Work with Account Executives to meet sales goals across large enterprise accounts in the UK and Ireland.
β’ Manage all technical aspects of a sales campaign, from initial meetings to final presentations.
β’ Write and organize technical responses for RFPs and formal proposals.
β’ Build and present proof-of-concept applications that solve specific customer problems.
β’ Explain technical details and business benefits to executives and stakeholders.
β’ Represent Appian at industry events, conferences, and seminars.
β’ Build long-term relationships with technical staff at target accounts.
β’ Collaborate with internal teams to get the resources or information needed to close a deal.
Your background:
β’ Education: A Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
β’ Experience: 10+ years as a Solutions Consultant or Sales Engineer for enterprise software.
β’ Technical Background: You must have a background in hands-on technical work, such as previous experience as a Software Engineer or Technical Consultant.
β’ Sales Partnership: You view yourself as a partner to the sales team, taking equal responsibility for account planning and meeting revenue targets.
β’ Technical Knowledge: You can answer deep functional questions and are comfortable discussing production environments, including APIs, application servers, and databases.
