You are a Product Designer who combines strong visual and interaction design expertise with strategic product thinking and a data-informed mindset. You are passionate about creating end-to-end product experiences that are intuitive, impactful, and aligned with both user needs and business goals.
You bring a proactive, autonomous, and highly collaborative approach to your work, confidently navigating ambiguity, influencing product direction, and driving quality across the entire design lifecycle. You are comfortable working closely with Product Managers, developers, and data teams to define opportunities, validate hypotheses, and measure the impact of design decisions through evidence and experimentation.
You also understand that AI is no longer just a support tool, but a core capability that expands what Product Design can own. You leverage AI tools to increase autonomy, accelerate research and execution, support frontend shaping, and contribute to establishing best practices for AI-augmented product design.
You bring to Applaudo the following competencies:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Interaction Design, Interface Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Service Design, Graphic Design with emphasis in UX, or equivalent certification.
β’ 4β6+ years of experience designing digital products and interfaces.
β’ At least 1β2 years demonstrating strong product thinking and data-informed decision-making.
β’ Strong experience designing end-to-end user experiences for web and/or mobile products.
β’ Demonstrated ability to define, track, and interpret UX KPIs and connect them to user and business outcomes.
β’ Experience influencing product backlogs through data-backed design proposals and validated hypotheses.
β’ Strong collaborative product mindset, working effectively with Product Managers, developers, engineers, and data teams.
β’ Experience designing and interpreting A/B experiments and usability validation initiatives.
β’ Advanced proficiency in Figma, including design systems, tokens, scalable components, and file governance.
β’ Strong understanding of UX research, interaction design, visual design, accessibility, and usability principles.
β’ Full autonomy and self-direction, with the ability to define scope, prioritize work, and manage timelines independently.
β’ Systems-oriented and strategic problem-solving mindset.
β’ Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
β’ Familiarity with Product Design frameworks such as Lean UX or Continuous Discovery.
β’ Well-grounded technical foundation, including frontend concepts, databases, APIs, and cloud architecture.
β’ Experience leveraging AI tools to extend design capabilities beyond traditional design workflows.
β’ Ability to critically evaluate AI outputs for quality, bias, and usability considerations.
β’ Experience mentoring or guiding other designers is a plus.
β’ Highly proficient written and spoken English (C1 or higher) and Spanish.You will be accountable for the following responsibilities:
β’ Co-lead product vision and design strategy alongside Product Managers and the data team.
β’ Define, track, and act on UX metrics such as task success rate, time on task, error rates, and behavioral signals.
β’ Proactively identify opportunities and propose product improvements grounded in user insights, metrics, and validated hypotheses.
β’ Collaborate with the data team to design A/B experiments and measure the impact of design decisions through evidence.
β’ Deliver high-quality design solutions supported by clear metrics frameworks and tracking plans.
β’ Navigate ambiguity with autonomy and initiative, defining scope, priorities, and timelines independently.
β’ Design intuitive, scalable, and visually polished user experiences across digital platforms.
β’ Use AI tools to increase efficiency, deepen research, support frontend shaping, and expand product design ownership.
β’ Contribute to defining and promoting AI standards and best practices within the design team.
β’ Participate actively in roadmap planning, sprint ceremonies, discovery sessions, and product strategy discussions.
β’ Collaborate closely with developers and engineers to ensure design feasibility and implementation quality.
β’ Guide workshops that align business goals, user needs, and product opportunities.
β’ Mentor UX/UI Designers on product thinking, design quality, and data-informed decision-making.
β’ Stay current with emerging UX/UI trends, technologies, AI capabilities, and design best practices.
β’ Support recruitment and hiring processes through portfolio reviews, technical evaluations, and interviews.
β’ Advocate for user-centered design and continuous improvement across the organization.
