We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Product Designer to join Archerβs Design Studio in support of our in-house Product Development team, to design digital interfaces, internal facing desktop tools. You will play a pivotal role in designing innovative features and products critical for our manufacturing and aircraft assembly efforts. Your work will shape intuitive, impactful, and scalable user experiences that align with our mission to build the future of advanced aviation.
You will work closely with a variety of stakeholders on our Business Systems team to design and develop interfaces that improve our manufacturing assembly line. The successful candidate will be passionate about creating intuitive solutions that will deliver our desired brand experience. They will collaborate proactively with other designers, engineers, and product users, gathering qualitative and quantitative data to make informed, human-centric design decisions. They should be proficient at converting requirements into practical product features that reduce confusion, increase engagement, and deliver delightful experiences.
The top priority is to keep the state of designs ready for development at least a sprint ahead of front-end engineers, when possible, and supporting them through phases of implementation (from βMVPβ and beyond) to ensure ease and accuracy of development, as well as address unforeseen edge-cases that may arise.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
β’ Collaborate regularly with engineers, designers, product managers, and key stakeholders to deeply understand requirements, manage expectations, and conduct design reviews at least weekly to hand off finished designs ready for development, and perhaps more importantly, present unfinished work in progress to receive early commentary across the team.
β’ Translate complex requirements and concepts into intuitive user flows with polished, on-brand interfaces working within and contributing towards our design system, across all platforms necessary, including cross functional landing pages used across engineering and manufacturing disciplines to shop floor operators for data inputs and execution of tasks and works instruction, to ensure consistency across products and features while enabling tighter iteration cycles and faster implementation time for Engineering.
β’ Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity design specs to support rapid engineering iteration and validation through proof-of-concept demos.
β’ Collaborate with Product Managers to refine PRDβs, shaping product strategy, conduct user research and define usability testing targets to validate designs and incorporate feedback. Stay updated on manufacturing industry trends, user needs, and share these learnings with the team to inform and justify design decisions.
β’ Partner with Front-end Developers to proactively express design intention, understand technical limitations, and ensure seamless implementation of designs maintaining quality and functionality. Ensure visual UI quality and UX accuracy is being met across all browsers and devices as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
β’ 5+ years in a senior or staff-level Designer role, with a well-rounded βDigital product designβ portfolio with result-driven case studies.
β’ Proven track record designing SaaS products and complex technical interfaces, ideally for enterprise customers.
β’ Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe, Claude Code, Claude Design, etc.) and producing high fidelity, on-device prototypes.
β’ Experience collaborating with engineering teams, particularly in AI or data-driven environments.
β’ Strong understanding of user research, interaction design, and information architecture.
β’ Familiarity with AI products and technologies and manufacturing industry or enterprise SaaS, and ability to work with enterprise systems like Siemensβ Opcenter, SAP, Mendix, etc. which have established systems design and constraints.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Product Design, HCI, or related field (or equivalent experience).

At Archer, we aim to attract, retain, and motivate talent with the skills and leadership needed to grow our business. We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that support the Company's strategy. For this position, we are targeting a base pay range of $170,000 - $215,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
