About the Role
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join Arista Networks' Extensible Operating System (EOS) software development team. This role involves building features for the world's largest data center networks, with your software becoming a key component of Arista's EOS network operating system.
Key Responsibilities
- →Write functional and design specifications for forwarding traffic features
- →Independently implement solutions using C and C++ programming languages
- →Create test plan specifications and automated test programs
- →Debug problems found by automated tests and implement fixes
- →Work with Customer Support Engineers to analyze and fix network problems
- →Mentor new and junior engineers in Arista’s software development environment
- →Review and contribute to specifications and implementations by team members
- →Help create and maintain project schedules
Requirements
- ✓Strong software engineering fundamentals
- ✓Understanding of networking including L2, L3, and commercial switching hardware
- ✓Experience with C and C++ programming languages
- ✓Ability to write functional specifications and design specifications
- ✓Experience with automated testing and debugging
- ✓Knowledge of routing protocols
- ✓Ability to work with customer support and system test engineers
