We’re growing across the board - and we're looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack/DevOps) to join our distributed remote Engineering team! The Role We're looking for an experienced backend developer that can drive improvements to our codebase, developer tools, cloud infrastructure and operations. This role requires a developer who can work across applicationcode, web frameworks, tools, and infrastructure to help our engineers quickly build high quality products. You'll be working closely with other developers and engineering managers to understand their issues in order to optimize the development environment for our engineering team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll report directly to our Chief Technology Officer and will be able to influence our development process and technical strategy while working with an open and collaborative team. Technologies used for this role: • Infrastructure/DevOps: Google Kubernetes Engine, CircleCI, Helm, Terraform, Docker, Google Cloud Tasks, Google App Engine • Database/Caching: PostgreSQL (Google Cloud SQL), Google Cloud Datastore, Redis, Google Memcache • Languages/Frameworks: Python, NodeJS, Typescript, ReactJS, Express, Django, NextJS • Monitoring: Datadog, Google Error Monitoring, Stackdriver Logging • Development Tools: Github, Webpack, Jira, VS Code • Testing: Playwright, Jest, Pytest, React Testing Library • Authentication: Auth0 What you'll be working on: • Helping other engineers build reliable products by improving infrastructure and application monitoring, alerting and tooling • Building tools and frameworks that help developers better understand and debug their systems and data • Propose and research opportunities to improve our technical strategy, software architecture, and technical roadmap • Investigating and resolving issues and outages related to uptime and performance of our infrastructure and databases • Ensure that Aspire follows technical best practices and maintains secure and reliable system What we're looking for: • 8+ years experience building web applications and infrastructure • Able to support engineers in US/CA from 9am-1pm PST in addition to engineers working in IST • Highly motivated to enable software developers to build reliable software quickly and confidently by improving their tooling and development experience • A polyglot engineer who can easily work with many different languages and frameworks, and can quickly become an expert with new technologies and systems • Skilled at diving deep into the details, can determine the root cause of any issue/outage, and recommends the best solution for a given problem • Great understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, PostgreSQL, and build automation tools, plus an understanding of how application development ties into infrastructure • A true team-player; someone that looks for opportunities to collaborate and mentor Bonus points if you have: • Played a critical role in setting up the architecture and development environment for a startup • Experience and knowledge in scalable architecture and a variety of software design patterns • Driven the adoption of engineering best practices at other companies (e.g., DevOps principles) Benefits and Perks: • Work-Life Balance • Flexible work from home policy • Generous paid leave and holidays • Personalized career planning sessions Aspire is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
