Call for Interpreters! The ANC is seeking Somali and Ukrainian interpreters to assist newcomers to Newfoundland and Labrador. This is an on-call, paid-per-appointment position reporting to the Interpretation and Translation Department.

Applicants must:

1. Reside in the St. John's metro region 2. Provide a valid Criminal Background and Vulnerable Sector Check (no older than six months, if you do not have this document already, you may apply for it with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary. Please also provide proof of application when applying for this position. Preference will be given to anyone who already has their Criminal Background and Vulnerable Sector Check.) 3. Have a CLB level certificate (level 6 or 7), Duolingo, IELTS, or CELPIP (if you do not have an equivalent certificate, you may send in any documents that indicate English proficiency for the department to review.) 4. Be highly reliable, punctual, and have the capacity to discreetly handle confidential and sensitive information 5. Possess cultural awareness, respect, and sensitivity while working with a diverse client group
