About the Role
We are looking for a Laser Engineering Manager to join our team at Atom Computing. This role involves leading a team of laser engineers to advance the design and development of laser systems for our quantum computers.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead, mentor, and manage a team of high-performing laser engineers
- →Provide technical leadership for the design, development, and upkeep of complex laser systems
- →Develop and execute project plans, timelines, and budgets
- →Manage vendor relationships and procurement of laser components
- →Oversee the creation of detailed technical documentation
- →Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain ongoing communication
- →Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related field
- ✓Minimum 10+ years experience using and maintaining optical, opto-mechanical, and/or laser systems
- ✓Minimum of 3 years experience designing and operating laser systems for control of atoms, ions, or solid state emitters
- ✓Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse team
- ✓Expertise with current state-of-the-art lasers/amplifiers and nonlinear optical materials
- ✓History of producing inventions and patents for laser or optical systems
- ✓Experience with data analysis and engineering change documentation
