How we work We have flexibility to work from home but also collaborate every week in-person at our office in Surry Hills as well as working remotely alongside engineering colleagues in Belgium, the Philippines and the US. You will • Design, develop, and test embedded software and associated components that are part of a software and hardware system for audio & video networked products • Development can consist of hardware drivers, embedded software applications and networking protocols using C++ and C as the primary programming languages • Work with new product and sustaining engineering teams in development and execution of product enhancements, product upgrades, and new product introductions • Review the design and code developed by peer engineers • Engage in unit, integration, and testing of software components and systems What we're looking for • Bachelor or Masters degree in electrical / electronic engineering, computer engineering, or computer science • Proficiency in C/C++ programming • Strong experience with real-time embedded systems with the ability to design, implement and debug code for microcontroller environments • Good understanding of hardware, including reading schematics and circuit debugging • Strong verbal and written communication skills • A genuine passion for computer science and engineering: you enjoy working on personal projects outside of work • You are proactive in staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the field • You are comfortable with increased autonomy, wider job expectations, and the need to be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment Additional desired skills and experience • Familiarity with Xilinx Zynq SoC platforms • Experience integrating embedded software with FPGA logic • Strong embedded Linux skills and familiarity with build systems (e.g. Yocto, PetaLinux, Buildroot) • Knowledge of networking • Experience with ethernet switch chipsets • Prior experience developing for audio and/or video products If you're an experienced Embedded Engineer looking for an opportunity to make a difference we may be on the same wavelength.   Apply now and submit your CV and cover letter.
