About the Role

We are looking for a Lead Medical Writer to join our team at Avalere Health. This role involves serving as the lead writer on projects, providing research, assisting with allocation assignments, and meeting content demands for customized Medical Communications initiatives. You will participate in strategic client interactions and ensure editorial quality and successful completion of all client content projects.

Key Responsibilities

→Act as a lead writer and client contact for assigned accounts
→Develop content and ensure quality editorial implementation of all assigned-client programs
→Communicate effectively with editorial, client, vendor, and project teams to complete projects on time and budget
→Provide briefing, reviewing, guidance, and direction to less experienced writers
→Offer high-quality scientific oversight for large or complex projects
→Drive project delivery and champion internal and external processes including compliance
→Provide business development support and strategize new medical communications projects
→Represent Avalere Health at client meetings, advisory boards, and business development initiatives

Requirements

✓Degree in a scientific or related field (advanced degree preferred)
✓Minimum of 4 years of experience in medical or scientific writing, preferably in healthcare consultancy or medical communications agency
✓Demonstrated ability to manage various scientific content types and review for accuracy and flow
✓Proven experience in project ownership and problem-solving in a collaborative team environment
✓Strong client communication skills and ability to serve as a reliable point of contact
✓Proven ability to provide leadership and mentoring to junior writers
✓Experience managing client relationships and serving as a key point of contact
✓Familiarity with compliance and regulatory guidelines for medical communications
