Join Our Team as a Trade Compliance Paralegal at Axiom
Location: Remote
We are currently seeking trade compliance paralegals to join our bench to work with our F500 clients on a remote basis. This is an existing vacancy.
Responsibilities:
β’ Assist in maintaining and administering global trade compliance programs, including policies, procedures, and internal controls
β’ Support classification of products, software, and technology under applicable regulations (e.g., HTS, ECCN)
β’ Conduct restricted party screenings and escalate potential matches for review
β’ Prepare and maintain documentation for export transactions, licenses, and regulatory filings
β’ Assist with export license applications and correspondence with government agencies
β’ Monitor and track regulatory changes related to import/export laws, sanctions, and trade restrictions
β’ Support internal audits and compliance reviews; help implement corrective actions where needed
β’ Provide support for internal training and awareness initiatives related to trade compliance
β’ Collaborate with logistics, procurement, and business teams to ensure compliant cross-border transactions
β’ Assist with investigations, disclosures, or responses to government inquiries as needed
Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs degree or paralegal certification preferred
β’ 5+ years of experience in trade compliance, international trade, customs, or a related legal/compliance function
β’ Familiarity with U.S. and/or international trade regulations (e.g., EAR, ITAR, OFAC, customs laws)
β’ Experience with screening tools and compliance systems (e.g., SAP GTS, Descartes, or similar) is a plus
β’ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
β’ Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Compensation:
The estimated total compensation for full-time Axiom attorney roles is $104,500-325,000 per year and for non-attorney roles is $71,250-309,750 per year. Compensation decisions are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs.
