JOIN THE TEAM BRINGING ADVANCED AUTONOMY TO THE BUILT WORLD
At Bedrock, weβre moving AI out of the lab and into the real world. Our team is composed of industry veterans who helped launch Waymo, scaled Segment to a $3.2B acquisition, and grew Uber Freight to $5B in revenue. Today, weβre deploying autonomous systems on heavy construction machinery across the country, accelerating project schedules of billion-dollar infrastructure projects and improving safety on job sites. Backed by $350M in funding, weβre working quickly to close the gap between America's surging demand for housing, data centers, manufacturing hubs, and the construction industry's growing labor shortage.
This is where algorithms meet steel-toed boots. Youβll collaborate with construction veterans and world-class engineers to solve physical-world problems that simulations canβt touch. If you're ready to apply cutting-edge technology to solve meaningful problems alongside a talented teamβwe'd love to have you join us.
Bedrock is looking for a very strong Software Engineer to build out our onboard testing capabilities. These tests will cover every possible safety critical case for our machines. You will work closely with our Robotics Platform and Cloud Infrastructure teams to design and develop full system validation frameworks that run on real machines, in HIL environments, and in the cloud with end to end simulation. You will work with systems engineering, simulation, and onboard infrastructure exercising critical logic across hardware-software boundaries to enable testing of every dimension of the robot.
A successful candidate will run the gamut from creating reusable automation scripts, build out fault injection capabilities on the robot, build interfaces to cloud infrastructure, and work closely with systems engineers to develop a comprehensive test capability for the onboard AI. You'll directly impact system reliability and safety by enabling us to catch edge cases early and ensuring we meet rigorous safety standards.
This role suits software engineers who think systemically, understand the stakes associated with real-world deployment, and prefer architecting intelligent solutions over running scripts. Strong candidates are hands-on software engineers who are excited about reliability and with a background in robotics. Because you need to see your tests, we expect some travel to our remote and Bay Area test sites.
Bedrock is bringing autonomy to the construction industry! Weβre a group of veterans from the autonomous vehicle industry who are passionate about bringing the benefits of automation to areas in the construction industry currently underserved by the market. Weβre building out our first fleet of retrofitted autonomous construction machines and weβre looking for an innovative test engineer who can rapidly create a comprehensive, automated test set. Day to day, you will work with the Robotics Platform team and the Cloud Infrastructure team to develop and evolve a test framework that leverages logs, simulation, HIL benches and machine level system tests. Occasionally, you will travel to test sites and work with operations to bring up and handover new testing procedures.
