About the Role
Benchling is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Infrastructure Engineering team. This role involves building and operating the platform that powers Benchling's products, working across various infrastructure disciplines including cloud infrastructure in AWS and Kubernetes-based services.
Key Responsibilities
- →Build, maintain, and improve foundational infrastructure and platform services used by product engineering teams
- →Partner directly with product teams to define requirements and reduce friction in deploying and operating services
- →Contribute to our Kubernetes-based platform, including service configuration and traffic management
- →Develop and operate AWS infrastructure with an emphasis on scalability and resiliency
- →Strengthen observability and operational readiness through metrics, logs, and alerting
- →Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to incidents
- →Write clear technical documentation and contribute to design discussions
- →Help ensure infrastructure meets expectations for operating in a regulated environment
Requirements
- ✓2+ years of experience in software engineering
- ✓Build software with a product-first approach
- ✓Strong abilities in problem solving and iterating on feedback
- ✓Enjoy ownership and building key pieces of product
- ✓Desire to learn about life science
- ✓Willing to work onsite in our SF office 3 days a week
