About the Role
Bestow is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join our Origination Group Engineering Team. You will develop and support solutions for our digital life insurance enrollment experience, working closely with product managers, underwriters, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- →Develop web services using Python, PostgreSQL, Java, and Drools Rule Language
- →Build new platform capabilities that scale with our business
- →Ensure features are observable and monitored for failure
- →Collaborate with designers, product managers, customer support, and other engineers
- →Operate workloads on Kubernetes in Google Cloud Platform
Requirements
- ✓3+ years of professional backend software development experience
- ✓Professional experience with Python or Java
- ✓Comfortable using Docker for local software development
- ✓Familiar with modern, scalable system architectures
- ✓Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
- ✓Familiar with API design tools like Protocol Buffers, Swagger, or OpenAPI
- ✓Experience building, deploying, operating, and troubleshooting software
- ✓Cloud computing & Kubernetes experience preferred
