About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer specializing in backend development to join our dynamic engineering team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems that power Bird's software applications and services.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, build, and maintain backend APIs and comprehensive documentation
- →Collaborate with business partners, including mobile, firmware, and UI/UX teams
- →Lead architecture design initiatives with a focus on scalability and performance
- →Write functional tests and ensure code quality across backend services
- →Build and optimize large-scale data processing systems
- →Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure smooth operation
- →Design fault-tolerant, highly available systems
- →Participate in 24/7 support rotation for critical systems
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in STEM with 6+ years of relevant professional experience
- ✓Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals
- ✓Expertise in object-oriented design and large-scale application development
- ✓Experience building internal tools using React
- ✓Proven experience with SQL and databases
- ✓Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or other JVM-based languages
