About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join our Security Operations team at Bitso, the leading cryptocurrency platform in Latin America. This hands-on, execution-focused role requires a senior security professional with deep expertise in vulnerability management and the ability to contribute across multiple security disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- →Own and operate the end-to-end vulnerability management lifecycle
- →Prioritize vulnerabilities using a risk-based approach
- →Produce recurring vulnerability posture reports and trend analysis
- →Investigate complex security alerts and support incident response
- →Participate in on-call rotation for critical alerts
- →Consume threat intelligence and proactively hunt for Indicators of Compromise
- →Develop detection use cases for business applications
- →Support regulatory compliance audits
- →Mentor junior team members
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of technical experience in security operations
- ✓Strong hands-on experience in vulnerability management
- ✓Experience in a SOC, CSIRT, or similar environment
- ✓Hands-on experience with enterprise vulnerability scanning platforms
- ✓Strong understanding of risk-based vulnerability prioritization
- ✓Experience investigating security alerts using EDRs and SIEM platforms
- ✓Familiarity with endpoint security, secure email gateways, and DLP
- ✓Ability to produce clear, data-driven reporting
- ✓Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
- ✓Cloud experience, preferably with AWS
- ✓Automation and scripting experience with Python, Bash, or similar
- ✓Experience supporting regulatory compliance audits
- ✓Bilingual communication in English and Spanish
- ✓Defensive or offensive security certifications are a plus
