ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for a writer/editor to join the Loyalty Team. This is a role focused on telling the Blackbird story and value prop across a variety of surfaces, from our forward-thinking Substack to consumer emails to copywriting for social and our app. You will work closely with our Head of Brand and our Head of Video to ensure the Blackbird story is being told in a consistent, cohesive, and compelling way.
Responsibilities
- Steward of the Blackbird voice anywhere consumer-facing copy appears, from ghostwriting communications of our CEO to in-app messaging.
- Own "The Supersonic," our Substack, from building the editorial calendar and assigning stories to editing freelance pieces and publishing the content.
- Write, produce, and send all consumer-facing emails, including "The Weekly Flyer," a content-driven email that goes out to every market.
- Coordinate with internal teams to highlight new restaurant openings and local community initiatives in each market.
- Manage email communications across all current and future audience segments.
- Prepare weekly content metrics reports for the Head of Brand and other stakeholders.
- Work closely with the social editor to ensure all content has best in class captions that reflect the Blackbird voice.
- Partner with the Design team on all copywriting initiatives, from new in-app surfaces to social assets to out of home advertising.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of editorial or content marketing experience.
- Strong editorial instincts and writing, plus an ability to modulate their voice for a specific brand or vertical.
- Ability to build emails, maintain segment lists, and collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Fluency with Substack, Figma, CapCut and/or Edits is a plus.
- Passion for restaurants, hospitality, and/or the future of commerce and loyalty.
- Based in New York City or willing to relocate. This is an on-site role.
PAY TRANSPARENCY NOTICE & BENEFITS
Depending on your work location and experience the target annual salary for this position can range from: $80,000 - $100,000 USD. This range does not include the equity component of the overall compensation package. Disclosure in accordance with New York City's Pay Transparency Law.
Full time offers from Blackbird may also include stock options, benefits (including medical, dental, vision, flexible time off, 401(k)), and some not-so-standard, extra-fun perks β subject to applicable taxes and based on eligibility.
