What's unique about this job?
As a QA Automation Engineer, youβll be joining a large-scale, long-term migration and modernization project, a full rebuild of the clientβs existing platform using C#, DHTMLX, and Vue.js. The project is structured in 5 phases, and the team is currently in phases 3β4, meaning youβll be jumping into an active, fast-moving effort with a strong team already in place.
The platform covers a wide range of business functions: sourcing and pricing, purchasing, implementation and project management, customer lifecycle management, incident management, financial management, expense management, and business process automation. This is a highly impactful role in a project that will run for the long term.
Youβll work within a modern QA stack, Playwright for automation, Qase as the test case repository, and GitHub and Jira for pipeline and issue tracking. The CI pipeline is already defined, and while youβll have input on improvements, the main focus is execution, coverage, and quality outcomes. Expect a balanced 50/50 split between manual QA work and automation scripting, with that ratio evolving as automation coverage matures.
Here are some of the exciting day-to-day challenges you will face in this role:
β’ Develop and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression, and end-to-end testing using Playwright.
β’ Convert repeatable manual test cases into automated tests to improve efficiency and coverage.
β’ Execute automated test suites and review results to identify failures and defects.
β’ Perform manual QA testing alongside automation work, maintaining a balanced approach as automation coverage scales.
β’ Monitor automated test runs and report failures or inconsistencies in Qase.
β’ Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.
β’ Identify, document, and track defects in Jira with clear reproduction steps.
β’ Support regression and release testing activities throughout the ongoing migration project.
β’ Perform API and data validation to ensure accuracy and reliability.
β’ Support CI pipeline execution of automated tests and contribute improvement ideas.
β’ Document test cases, test procedures, and known issues in Qase.
β’ Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
β’ Stay current with testing tools and quality practices relevant to the teamβs environment.
You will shine if you have:
β’ 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance or software testing, with at least 1 year in test automation.
β’ Hands-on experience with Playwright (strongly preferred) or comparable tools such as Selenium or Cypress.
β’ Proficiency in at least one scripting language β JavaScript is a strong plus given the teamβs Vue.js stack.
β’ Familiarity with C#, DHTMLX, and/or Vue.js to understand the applications under test (deep coding knowledge is not required).
β’ Experience with Qase or similar test management tools (e.g., Xray, Zephyr, TestRail).
β’ Experience working with Jira for defect tracking and GitHub for version control and pipeline integration.
β’ Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, QA principles, and SDLC.
β’ Ability to create thorough, effective test cases and identify edge cases and risk areas.
β’ Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
β’ Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments.
β’ Excellent verbal and written English communication skills β proactivity and clear communication are critical for this role.
β’ Self-motivated and able to work independently; this role requires someone who drives their own quality outcomes.
β’ A bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
β’ Relevant certifications, such as ISTQB, are a plus.
What we offer:
β’ Salary in USD
β’ 100% Remote
