Role Purpose
We are looking for a Staff Product Manager to lead Bokuβs Transaction Data transformation β a critical, business-wide initiative that underpins regulatory compliance, financial control, and scalable growth. This role is central to delivering a fully enriched, event-driven transaction lifecycle, ensuring that every transaction is complete, traceable, and fit for purpose across safeguarding, cash forecasting, FX (P&L and risk), accounting, billing, and reporting. The outcome is a single, finance-grade source of truth that enables straight-through processing, reduces manual intervention, and strengthens auditability and regulatory confidence. The ideal candidate will have experience operating at the intersection of payments, finance, and data platforms, with a strong understanding of transaction lifecycles, FX, settlement flows, and financial operations (e.g. safeguarding, reconciliation, or sub-ledger/accounting systems). Experience working on complex, cross-functional data or platform transformations is highly desirable.
This is a hands-on delivery role: you will define and own the product vision for transaction lifecycle enrichment and safeguarding, translate complex finance and regulatory requirements into clear product outcomes, and lead delivery end-to-end. You will work closely with Finance, Treasury, FX, Compliance, and Engineering to define the target state, shape the architecture and data model, and drive execution from discovery through to implementation, adoption, and measurable business impact.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Own the product vision and strategy for Bokuβs transaction data domain, enabling fully enriched transaction lifecycles and supporting safeguarding, FX, cash forecasting, and wider finance and business data use cases.
β’ Work closely with Finance, Treasury, Compliance, and Operations stakeholders to identify data gaps, pain points, and define clear, outcome-focused requirements.
β’ Define and maintain the canonical transaction lifecycle, including business events, states, and data enrichment standards.
β’ Own and prioritise the backlog and roadmap for an engineering delivery team, ensuring alignment to business value, regulatory needs, and strategic outcomes.
β’ Partner with Engineering and Data teams to deliver scalable, event-driven solutions and provide interfaces that enable business teams to self-serve their data requirements.
β’ Drive end-to-end delivery from discovery through to release, adoption, and measurable impact.
β’ Collaborate with other Product Managers across the business to define domain data ownership and ensure required data is captured and delivered via their roadmaps.
β’ Provide clear stakeholder communication, track success metrics (e.g. data completeness, STP, safeguarding accuracy), and drive continuous improvement.
Measures of Success:
β’ % of transactions fully enriched with required lifecycle data (e.g. settlement terms, FX, fees, safeguarding attributes) at or near transaction time. % to be agreed β roadmap of progress expected
β’ % of transaction lifecycle events captured and published accurately and immutably (event completeness and data quality). % to be agreed β roadmap of progress expected
β’ % reduction in manual data enrichment and intervention by Operations/PayOps. % to be agreed β roadmap of progress expected
β’ Safeguarding accuracy: % of safeguarding balances fully traceable to transaction-level data, and reconciliation differences within SLA thresholds. Targets to be defined
β’ Improvement in cash forecasting accuracy (expected vs actual cashflows variance). Targets to be agreed with Treasury
β’ Create, define, own and maintain product artefacts for Transaction Data: Vision, Lifecycle Model, Roadmap, Backlog
β’ Maintain at least 2 sprints worth of refined and prioritised engineering work at any given time
Key Skills, experience and Competencies:
β’ 5+ years of Product Management experience, operating at a senior level and leading large, strategic initiatives end-to-end
β’ Experience working in a fast-moving fintech or payments environment, with exposure to scaling products and platforms
β’ Strong understanding of transaction lifecycles, settlement flows, and financial operations (e.g. safeguarding, reconciliation, or accounting processes)
β’ Experience working with complex data models and defining data requirements across multiple stakeholders and domains
β’ Ability to translate regulatory, financial, and operational requirements into clear product specifications and deliverable outcomes
β’ Skilled at backlog ownership, prioritisation, and working closely with engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions
β’ Comfortable operating in cross-functional environments and aligning multiple Product Managers on shared data ownership and dependencies
β’ Confident communicator able to engage senior stakeholders across Finance, Treasury, Compliance, and Engineering
β’ Analytical mindset with the ability to identify data gaps, assess impact, and drive measurable improvements in data quality and process efficiency
Qualifications (if required):
β’ 2.1 University Degree
