About the Role
We are looking for a Data Governance Expert with a focus on data cataloging to drive the technical implementation of the data governance framework. This role will ensure the organization can effectively use standardized metadata, connected data sources, and a well-maintained data catalog.
Key Responsibilities
- βDrive the technical implementation of the data governance framework with a focus on metadata management and data cataloging
- βEnsure the organization can effectively use standardized metadata, connected data sources, and a well-maintained data catalog
- βPerform data catalog technical migration
- βIdentify data governance and metadata management use cases and solve them with a data catalog solution
- βDefine a metadata management concept and implement it in the data catalog solution
- βDefine and maintain the meta-model in the data catalog
- βIdentify main data resources and connect them with the data catalog
- βMaintain metadata and improve metadata management in the data catalog
- βCreate and maintain business glossary in the data catalog/business glossary solution
- βTrain and enable data stewards in metadata management, governance, and data catalog fields
- βDefine and establish standards for metadata management and catalog for Powertrain Solution (PS) organization
- βManage and improve the data catalog solution
- βConsult data stewards, business units, plants, and teams in data governance, metadata management, and data catalog topics
Requirements
- βExperience in data governance and metadata management
- βStrong understanding of data cataloging and data management solutions
- βAbility to define and implement metadata management concepts
- βExperience with data catalog solutions and tools
- βKnowledge of enterprise requirements, technology drivers, economics, business policies, and data processing needs
- βStrong communication and consulting skills
- βAbility to train and enable data stewards in metadata management and governance
