If you’re ready to apply your exceptional skills to create the factory of the future, we’d love to speak with you.  ABOUT THE ROLE As a Software Quality Engineer (SQE) at Bright Machines, you will work closely with R&D teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software with our Design for Automated Assembly product. You will play a critical role in defining testing strategies, implementing automated test frameworks, and validating software functionality in complex, high-performance industrial environments. Your work will directly impact the efficiency, reliability, and innovation of Bright Machines’ software solutions. You will work directly with customers to ensure they are able to report and track issues. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING • Design, develop, and execute automated and manual tests for software across factory automation, analytics, and operations systems. • Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and QA leads to define quality standards and testing strategies. • Develop and maintain test frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and tooling to support efficient validation of software releases. • Identify, document, and track software defects; work with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues. • Ensure software releases meet quality standards, performance benchmarks, and security requirements. • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance test coverage, automation, and QA processes. • Participate in design and code reviews to provide input on testability and quality considerations. WHAT WE WANT TO SEE • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. • 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance, preferably in automation, industrial software, or embedded systems. • Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., vitest, catch2, etc…) and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Argo, Cargo). • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (Agile/Scrum) and quality processes. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams. • Experience with industrial automation, robotics, or factory systems is a plus.
