About the Role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join Canva's new Edge AI team within Video Studio. This role involves leading a team focused on bringing real-time, on-device ML to Canva's products across iOS, Android, and web platforms.

Key Responsibilities

→Lead and develop a team building cross-platform, on-device ML infrastructure and features in C++
→Set team direction and translate complex problem spaces into clear priorities and milestones
→Create an environment of thoughtful planning, strong execution, and continuous improvement
→Partner with Platform, Research, Product, and ML stakeholders to deliver meaningful user impact
→Strengthen engineering foundations across architecture, performance, testing, CI, and maintainability
→Support responsible production ML practices including experimentation, iteration, and performance monitoring
→Build an inclusive, psychologically safe culture where people feel supported and able to do their best work

Requirements

✓Experience leading engineering teams delivering complex technical products
✓Comfort engaging in systems programming discussions (C/C++, native APIs, performance trade-offs)
✓Experience with or strong interest in ML-powered product capabilities such as on-device ML
✓Strong technical judgment to help teams navigate architectural decisions
✓Ability to create focus in ambiguity and support teams to deliver consistently
✓Experience as a people leader who invests in coaching, feedback, and long-term growth
✓Commitment to building environments where diverse perspectives are valued
