Driving both technical excellence and team performance, this role sits at the heart of delivering high-quality, scalable products that power millions of travel experiences. Youβll lead a multidisciplinary engineering squad, creating the environment for engineers to do their best work while ensuring consistent, meaningful delivery. Working closely with Product and Design, youβll form part of a collaborative leadership trio, aligning priorities and driving shared outcomes. Youβll also connect across the wider engineering organisation, shaping best practices and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement. This is a role where people leadership, delivery focus and technical credibility come together to make real impact.
What you'll do as an Engineering Manager
β’ Lead and coach a multidisciplinary engineering team, creating a high-performing environment through clear goals, regular feedback and career development
β’ Drive agile delivery practices including planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives to ensure steady, predictable progress
β’ Own end-to-end delivery of scalable, high-quality software, from planning and estimation through to release and post-launch support
β’ Remove blockers, manage dependencies and proactively address risks to keep delivery on track across squads and stakeholders
β’ Partner closely with Product, Design and Trading to align priorities, shape roadmaps and deliver meaningful customer and business outcomes
β’ Contribute to engineering strategy, evolving ways of working, architecture and CI/CD practices to support long-term scalability
What you'll bring to the team
β’ At least 5 years of hands-on people management experience in agile, fast-paced software environments.
β’ Strong technical foundation with the ability to guide engineering decisions and engage in code and design discussions where needed
β’ Track record of delivering complex software projects, from planning and estimation through to successful release
β’ Deep understanding of modern software development practices, including system design and CI/CD
β’ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders
β’ A data-informed, delivery-focused mindset with strong organisational awareness and the ability to balance short-term priorities with long-term goals
