About the Role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join Carvana's data science and analytics team. This role involves working with complex data sets from disparate sources to support predictive modeling and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

→Seek out, consume, and productionalize new data, both structured and unstructured
→Design and maintain the predictive modeling data pipeline
→Architect robust and scalable data pipelines for predictive model training
→Support data scientists and software engineers in building and deploying new RESTful services
→Design and develop high-availability applications using technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
→Develop comprehensive solutions for application logging, error reporting, and alerting
→Design both relational and non-relational data models
→Create ETLs to integrate data between different systems
→Design processes for handling sensitive data responsibly
→Analyze data sets using statistical and visualization techniques
→Stay abreast of new technologies to improve analytics and data science teams

Requirements

✓Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Math, or Hard Sciences (or equivalent experience)
✓5+ years of experience in data engineering and data warehousing
✓2+ years of experience building scalable, available, and robust systems
✓Strong experience with at least one cloud service platform provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
✓Strong coding skills in Python
✓Strong experience with enterprise software development using modern tools
✓Fluency in SQL and NoSQL
✓Familiarity with DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines
✓Ability to independently manage and prioritize efforts
✓Strong communication skills
