We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to drive execution and delivery for a high-impact SaaS product. This role partners closely with the Product Manager to translate vision and strategy into actionable backlog items and ensures the development team consistently delivers high-value outcomes in an agile, remote environment.
The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of business, technology, and user experience, and brings prior experience as a Product Owner within a SaaS organization.
Responsibilities
Product Backlog & Planning
β’ Collaborate with the Product Manager to contribute to product vision and roadmap execution.
β’ Break down epics into features and detailed user stories aligned to roadmap priorities.
β’ Own and manage the development team backlog, ensuring priorities reflect customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility.
β’ Contribute to delivery planning by decomposing initiatives into incremental, value-driven releases.
Agile Execution & Team Collaboration
β’ Write clear, detailed user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
β’ Partner closely with the Technical Lead and development team to clarify requirements and ensure smooth sprint execution.
β’ Accept or reject completed work based on the Definition of Done (DoD).
β’ Help remove impediments that slow team progress, including cross-team dependencies or external blockers.
β’ Collaborate in facilitating Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives, story mapping).
β’ Promote continuous improvement through retrospective-driven process enhancements.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Engagement
β’ Engage users, stakeholders, and support teams to gather feedback and iterate on features.
β’ Monitor feedback queues and prioritize tickets appropriately.
β’ Proactively communicate trade-offs, priorities, and delivery timelines.
β’ Coordinate dependencies across teams for integration, testing, and deployments.
Release & Communication
β’ Coordinate release activities and communicate release plans.
β’ Organize and facilitate product demos to showcase working software to stakeholders.
β’ Draft and publish release notes for software updates.
Qualifications
β’ 3 - 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner in an enterprise SaaS environment.
β’ Strong experience working within Agile/Scrum frameworks.
β’ Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize a dynamic product backlog.
β’ Experience working in distributed/remote teams.
β’ Strong collaboration skills with engineering teams and technical leads.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
β’ Ability to balance business priorities, user needs, and technical constraints.
β’ Experience in research administration, finance or accounting, compliance, or regulated SaaS environments is a plus.
