About the Role
We are looking for an FPGA designer to join our team and contribute to the White Rabbit project, a CERN-born technology that provides sub-nanosecond synchronisation and deterministic data transfer. You will work on the next generation of the WR switch (White Rabbit Switch v4), the core component of a WR network.
Key Responsibilities
- →Develop and maintain HDL modules, primarily using VHDL.
- →Create simulation test benches, mostly in SystemVerilog.
- →Assist in developing production tests for post-hardware manufacturing.
- →Participate in hardware design, reviews, and production.
- →Develop automated tests for Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines.
- →Develop basic low-level software and firmware.
- →Engage in hardware/software co-design processes with software developers.
Requirements
- ✓Experience with AMD/Xilinx tools and FPGAs (Ultrascale, Zynq).
- ✓Experience with software development for bare-metal and embedded Linux.
- ✓Knowledge of PCB design for analogue/digital circuits.
- ✓Experience with measurements using oscilloscope and phase noise analyser.
- ✓Experience with Linux device drivers is desirable.
- ✓Eligibility criteria include being a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State, having a professional background in Electronics Engineering, and either a Master's degree with 2-6 years of post-graduation experience or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation experience.
