About the Role
We are looking for a Research Software Engineer to join Project HighLO, which applies data analysis techniques from particle physics to financial markets. This role involves turning research into production-ready C++ algorithms and tools, working with CERN's ROOT framework.
Key Responsibilities
- →Build solutions to analyze streamed data with C++ in real time
- →Work on C++ data structures in ROOT for financial data analysis
- →Develop a ROOT-based framework for analyzing limit order book data
- →Apply statistical data analysis techniques from particle physics to financial data
- →Collaborate with financial institutions to adapt software to their needs
Requirements
- ✓Experience in building data analysis libraries with C++ and Python
- ✓Data analysis experience in particle physics or finance (or both)
- ✓Experience working on large codebase open source projects
- ✓National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
- ✓Master's degree with 2-6 years of post-graduation experience OR PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation experience
- ✓Never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before
- ✓Skills
- ✓Proficiency in:
- ✓Python, C++
- ✓Git, CMake
- ✓Optional, but considered a plus:
- ✓Knowledge of ROOT
- ✓Web technologies like React or Next.js
- ✓Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French
