About the Role
We are looking for a Product Designer to join Checkatrade, the UK’s go-to home improvement marketplace. You’ll take responsibility for the design quality of features from discovery through to implementation, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful outcomes for customers and trades.
Key Responsibilities
- →Deliver high-quality design from discovery to implementation within your squad.
- →Own a feature or improve an existing experience end-to-end.
- →Design intuitive, accessible flows using our design system and brand guidelines.
- →Create interactive prototypes to test ideas and validate solutions.
- →Collaborate closely with PMs, Engineers, Researchers and Analysts to frame problems and deliver outcomes.
- →Present your work clearly, explaining your thinking and design rationale.
- →Contribute to the evolution of your product area and team ways of working.
Requirements
- ✓2–3+ years of experience in product design, shipping real product work within cross-functional teams.
- ✓A portfolio demonstrating strong interaction and visual design craft.
- ✓Confidence in managing your own design process from discovery through to delivery.
- ✓Experience prototyping and gathering user feedback to validate decisions.
- ✓Familiarity with design systems and component libraries.
- ✓A collaborative, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude and openness to feedback.
- ✓Clear communication skills and confidence presenting your work.
