YOUR TEAM You'll join Team Tree, we handle enterprise enablement. That means our work cuts across the entire platform and touches areas such as uptime monitoring (TCP, DNS, URL, ICMP), Private Locations, RBAC, entitlements, and multi-account management. Everything that makes Checkly work for large organizations. We are a small team with high autonomy. Enterprise work means priorities can change, so we keep plans loose and move fast when they do. You'll own problems end-to-end and ship things that unblock real customers. WHAT YOU'LL DO Harden & expand our backend Our backend runs on Hapi.js, Golang and a mix of AWS and bare metal server monitoring infrastructure, distributed around the globe. We ran over 2.5 billion checks already and are ramping up for a lot more. To give you a clear idea of what the job could entail, here are some examples of the work we’ve done lately or will start soon: - Own and evolve our uptime monitoring platform, driving new capabilities to customers observe and protect the most critical parts of their infrastructure at scale. - Work with infra to deploy our own Clickhouse instance to capture check run logs and metadata. Design and implement an API on this datastore that allows customers to run reports on their check runs. - Work with a customer to hunt down a bug that lets certain checks fail in their private location infrastructure. - You will improve our status pages product to elevate it toward an industry-leading standard of reliability, transparency, and real-time communication. - You'll work on scaling our current backend platform to meet the demands of our growing business, and participate in our on-call rotation to keep everything running smoothly around the clock. WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE - You have deep experience in building applications in a professional product (SaaS) environment, with TypeScript (Go is a plus). Our platform runs services in both TypeScript and Go — you will work across both stacks and can ramp up on Go after joining. - You’re excited about developer tooling, and testing frameworks like Playwright. - You have experience building distributed systems on AWS/GCP or bare metal servers. - You want business impact and the visibility that a startup offers. - You like to work in a growing company with experienced founders. - You assume good intentions and are a great communicator in spoken and written English. - You're autonomous and self-motivated in a remote environment. Therefore we work with a standardized salary calculator [Upgrade to PRO to see link] that includes several factors such as seniority level as well as location. For this role, the range is - €88k-€107k for someone in a similar cost of market as UK, Germany etc. - €79k-€97k for someone in a similar cost of market as Spain, Poland, Ukraine etc. APPLY If this sounds interesting, please apply!
