About the Role
The City of Fort Worth is seeking a Budget Analyst II to join the FWLab Budget Division. This role involves performing city-wide analytical support duties related to organizational analysis and budget monitoring, contributing to the City's vision of being the most livable and best managed city in the country.
Key Responsibilities
- →Participate in the development, management and analysis of multiple citywide capital and operating budgets
- →Serve as the FWLab’s budget liaison to assigned departments
- →Conduct analysis to identify potential revenue and cost saving opportunities
- →Complete monthly forecasting reports for assigned city departments and funds
- →Analyze operational and administrative challenges and provide recommendations for alternative solutions
- →Draft and originate Mayor and Council communications
- →Provide daily analysis and research support in assigned departments
- →Participate in special projects, including research of new programs and services
Requirements
- ✓Master’s degree in Public Administration, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- ✓Two years of experience in budget management, finance, research analysis, or related field
- ✓Strong analytical skills and understanding of system databases
- ✓Strong customer service and collaboration skills
- ✓Ability to work independently with demonstrated accomplishments in successful task management
- ✓Experience or knowledge of municipal government budgeting and finance
- ✓Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and basic knowledge of data visualization tools such as PowerBI
