About the Role
The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) is seeking a Call Agent to join the Bureau of Customer Support Services Call Center. This role involves providing enhanced customer service to the people of New York City by serving as a single point of entry for all department information and services.
Key Responsibilities
- →Communicate effectively on the telephone and through live chat to handle calls from different workgroups
- →Provide customer service by answering phones and chats to ensure the public is informed on processes and steps needed for various services
- →Guide customers on how to check the status of orders using the E-vital status portal
- →Provide health education information and make appropriate referrals for counseling and testing
- →Disseminate information related to public health topics
- →Assist the general public and staff with navigating the NYC DOHMH website
- →Maintain and update databases and analyze data for accuracy
- →Handle emergencies and other ad hoc assignments
Requirements
- ✓Strong customer service orientation
- ✓Courteous telephone manner
- ✓Excellent oral and written communication skills
- ✓Basic computer literacy
- ✓Spanish speaking a plus
