About the Role

The New York City Mayor’s Office is seeking a Special Assistant to join the Office of Federal Affairs. This role involves coordinating the City's interaction with the Federal administration and Congress, keeping the Mayor and City agencies informed about important issues, and advocating on behalf of the city.

Key Responsibilities

→Support the management of external relations with elected officials and stakeholders
→Manage legislative portfolios and responsibilities with the Federal Legislative Affairs director and staff
→Respond to inquiries and requests from external partners
→Advocate for policies benefiting New York City on the federal level
→Support leadership in developing strategic plans and driving implementation of initiatives

Requirements

✓Understanding of the federal legislative process, public policy analysis, New York City government operations, or federal advocacy
✓Experience with intergovernmental relations
✓Ability to coordinate between the Mayor’s Office and elected officials
✓Strong communication and organizational skills
