About the Role
The NYC Department of City Planning is seeking a Junior IT Support Engineer to join its Information Technology Division’s Technical Support Management (TSM) unit. This role involves supporting the operations and maintenance of the agency’s mission-critical Audio/Visual (AV) infrastructure and IT infrastructure. The position ensures smooth delivery of meetings, events, and day-to-day technology operations across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- →Perform weekly testing, calibration, and preventative maintenance on the AV infrastructure
- →Support live events, conferences, hybrid meetings, and webinars using Microsoft Teams and Zoom
- →Provide onsite training and support for presenters and meeting organizers
- →Set up, operate, and break down AV equipment for external engagements
- →Diagnose and resolve audio, video, and connectivity issues
- →Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals
- →Troubleshoot network connectivity issues (wired and wireless)
- →Install, configure, and update software and operating systems
- →Assist with patching, imaging, and deployment of desktop and laptop devices
- →Support printers, conference room PCs, and shared IT resources
Requirements
- ✓Experience with AV infrastructure and IT support
- ✓Proficiency in Microsoft Teams and Zoom Video Conferencing
- ✓Knowledge of IT ticketing systems
- ✓Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues
- ✓Experience with software installation and operating systems
- ✓Strong communication and customer service skills
- ✓Ability to work in a hybrid environment with some remote work options
